Dr Victoria Hamilton is a veterinarian with a life-long special interest in equine biomechanics and myofascial pain. She uses Dry Needling and Lasers in her treatment regimes.

Myofascial pain in horses is very common and is often the hidden reason behind many poor performance and behavioural issues in a horse's career.

Signs will vary depending on the muscle groups affected and include  girthiness, uneven strides, impure gaits (eg 4-beat canters and lateral or long/short walks), not tracking up, contact issues (too light, too heavy or inconsistent), inability to collect,  one-sidedness or general lateral stiffness, difficulty with canter leads or with landing on a particular lead when jumping, uncomfortable sitting trot and many training resistances and behavioural issues often passed as bad attitude.
